After a 40-year career in commercial banking, financing numerous acquisitions of privately held businesses, Jerry Woods recognized that most businesses were not very attractive to be acquired for the perceived values of the current ownership, but these businesses were not ready to be considered for acquisition due to a severe lack of preparation.  This is why only 10-20% of all businesses survive their first-generation ownership and are never transitioned to new ownership and the value of the business is either completely lost or severely diminished.  For this reason, Jerry created BusinessPulse, LLC to prepare businesses to not only grow to their full potential in value but to also make them both attractive and ready to be transitioned to subsequent ownership.

 

Jerry has not only worked in business acquisition financing but has held a license in business brokerage and has worked in various facets of business valuation and management consulting.  He holds both bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Toledo and has achieved the Certified Exit Planning Advisor (CEPA) credential.  Over his 40-year banking career he has helped hundreds of small and mid-sized businesses within many industries around the US to grow to their full potential. 

 

Jerry has lived in many major metropolitan areas around the US within his career but calls Franklin, TN home with his wife, Gwenn and dog, Toby.  He is father of two adult children, Victoria and Alexander.  Alex is involved in, and is part owner of BusinessPulse.
